FANAWAY® Retactable Blade Ceiling Fan
EVO1 Prevail from FANAWAY® is an advanced ceiling fan with unique aesthetics and energy efficient design. Switched off the traditionally intrusive fan blades automatically retract and conceal, and visually the unit transforms into a slim, modern light pendant. Turning the fan on creates a centrifugal force which deploys the blades to circulate air within a room. It creates open space in the room environment, accumulates less dust, and is unobtrusive and versatile to visually integrate into most building interiors.

Apart from providing a clutter free overhead environment, Fanaway provides a very different aesthetic to standard ceiling fans or lights. Using quality materials and finishes, Fanaway sets its own standard from an interior design and styling perspective.

EVO1 Prevail from Fanaway was born of a vision to resolve an aesthetic issue that had not been successfully addressed until now. By applying meticulous design processes to tackle specific needs, the Australian designers were able to provide solutions to the aesthetic problems of a common ceiling fan and at the same time re-define the concept of pendant type ceiling fans. In addition the design achieves greater energy efficiency ratios reducing running costs and greenhouse emissions.

Evo 1 Prevail was developed by Australian inventor Joe Villella, he first featured his design on the ABC’s TV show ‘New Inventors’ in October 2005 and won the ‘People’s Choice’ award for that episode. Beacon Lighting worked with Joe to bring his unique invention to fruition.

How to clean the Fanaway Fan
It’s very easy to clean the blades of the Fanaway fan, simply pull the blades out when the fan is turned off. You need to hold onto two blades and slowly pull them out in the same direction that the blades would usually open, the mechanism is fairly tight so you need to use a bit of pressure to pull them out. Make sure you pull both two blades at the same time as pulling one could cause damage as the pressure is too much over the 1 blade. Once you have them out you can wipe them down with warm soapy water or Windex on a cloth.
