Laith & George’s bachelor pad
11 May 2020
This House Rules season’s most eligible bachelors are finally ready to move out of their parents’ place and into their own home. With George the expert builder and best mate setting the rules for Laith’s house, we could have seen anything unfold. However, the teams impressed with their brilliant styling and transformed this Western Sydney house into that masculine, suave and sophisticated bachelor pad the boys were after. Here are some of the rooms that dazzled us.
Kitchen by Kimmy & Rhi
Their lighting choice: Our Circa pendant and DIY strip lighting
The verdict: Laith and George were amazed by how much the twins managed to achieve in this small space – starting with our Circa II pendant, which made an impressive statement over the Carrara marble benchtop. While the Circa II is pretty, it’s also smart. With just the app or voice commands (via a smart home hub), the boys can choose from millions of colours, set schedules and customise their ambience. Adding our strip lights under the cabinets was another clever design technique which gave the kitchen a glam effect. No wonder Laith and George thought the kitchen was “picture-perfect” and “belonged in a magazine”.
Master bedroom by Tanya & Dave
Their lighting choice: Our Aksel 6-light pendant, Aksel pendant and Buster + Punch switches
The verdict: Tanya and Dave ticked off the first two house rules by creating a suave and sophisticated master bedroom for Laith. They used a dark colour palette to bring out the masculine vibe and included clever designs like bedside niches featuring our classy Buster + Punch switches. The boys loved the idea of wallpaper on the ceiling highlighted by our Aksel close-to-ceiling pendant. This was matched by a pair of Aksel bedside pendants which replaced traditional lamps. This room gets a 10 from us!
Dining room by Kayne & Aimee
Their lighting choice: Our Leconic pendants
The verdict: The dining room reveal left the boys speechless. Being close to their families, Laith and George wanted to open up the dining space for large family gatherings. So, Kayne & Aimee created a beautiful open, light-filled space with skylights and our stunning reverse design Leconic pendants. They used deep rich heritage colours and luxurious dining furniture to complete the sophisticated look. Save a seat for us boys!
Guest bedroom by Kayne & Aimee
Their lighting choice: Our MFL By Masson Cuba wall lights
Their cooling choice: Our Whitehaven fan
The verdict: When they walked into the room, the boys felt like they were in a hotel. Kayne and Aimee created a bold feature wall with deep green tones which got a massive tick from George for the craftsmanship of the joinery. They installed a pair of our black Cuba wall lights on this feature wall to cast brilliant up and down triangles of light on either side of the bed. Our stylish three blade Whitehaven fan in black was the focal point in this grand guest bedroom and tied the look together. Who wouldn’t love to be a guest here!
