Luxe looks from the House Rules penthouse reveals

House Rules is back in 2020, and the stakes couldn’t have been higher! Seven teams worked hard to earn their spot in the elimination challenge as they transformed an outdated Gold Coast apartment 32 storeys high into a luxurious Miami beach penthouse. As proud lighting suppliers once again, we followed the teams from room to room as they worked their reno magic. Here are our top favourites:

Tanya & Dave’s dining room
Their lighting choice: Our Avenue pendant
The verdict: Hitting most of the House Rules, Tanya & Dave’s dining room simply wowed the judges. The judges thought it oozed opulence, sophistication and elegance. Our Avenue pendant was bang on, that’s right, look at those curves!

Kimmy & Rhi’s lounge room
Their lighting choice: Our Mele pendants
The verdict: Clustered together, our large, small and squat Mele pendants “embraced the curves” and added to the romantic, relaxed ambience that twins Kimmy & Rhi created in their Miami-inspired space. The judges agreed that the lounge room could go on the cover of a glossy magazine.

Tamara & Rhys’ kitchen
Their lighting choice: Our Aksel pendant
The verdict: Hitting two of the House Rules, Tamara & Rhys’ kitchen not only “embraced the views” but also showed that “size matters” with our grand multi-armed Aksel pendant.

Susan & Anthony’s cocktail lounge
Their lighting choice: Our Aksel pendant
The verdict: While Tamara and Rhys used our 6-light Aksel in their kitchen in week 1, Susan and Anthony scaled up by using our 12-light Aksel in their stylish cocktail lounge in week 2. They wanted to create a stunning effect and they achieved that effortlessly. The Aksel is a contemporary design with hand blown glass and a solid brass finish that’s perfect for adding drama – just what a reality TV show needs.

Tamara & Rhys’ bedroom
Their lighting choice: Our Lugano pendant and wall brackets
The verdict: The judges fell in love with the extraordinary structure they created over the bed which was embellished with our Lugano single light wall bracket. These lights in antique brass are clever alternatives to bedside lamps. They were matched in scale and lavishness by our 12-light Lugano pendant hanging at the entrance of the bedroom (Psst! There are just 200 of these unique pieces produced, making it super exclusive).

Laith & George’s study nook
Their lighting choice: Our Pheonix pendant
The verdict: The boys created a neat and simple space with Miami-inspired wallpaper and a cute study desk they built themselves. By choosing our open design Pheonix pendant, they brought some sophistication and style to this nook.

Kayne & Aimee’s pool view lounge
Their lighting choice: Our Orion
The verdict: Kayne & Aimee took the House Rule ‘entertain upstairs with lavish style’ seriously as we can see from the sophisticated, luxe and relaxed space they created. The judges highly praised their choice of lighting and thought our pendants were perfectly placed, perfect height and perfect scale for this room. Both the Orion and Avenue pendants in brass finish certainly took the classiness of the upstairs to another level.
