Courtney, an events furniture designer, and Grant, a landscape business development manager, aimed for a sleek, modern aesthetic they dubbed “Moditerranean.” Their bathroom, despite some construction hiccups, came together beautifully, creating a space that was both Instagram-worthy and functional. 

The judges were divided, with Shaynna wishing for “more drama,” but Marty felt it was exactly what potential buyers would want. Their bathroom had a tranquil, resort-like vibe, complete with soothing colors and elegant design elements, making it a standout in its own right. 

Courtney and Grant’s bathroom featured the Equinox wall sconce in travertine, a favorite of Shaynna’s for its subtle yet effective lighting. This minimalist backlit sconce emits a soft, warm glow, creating a relaxing atmosphere perfect for unwinding after a long day. The MFL strip lighting further enhanced the ambience, highlighting the bath niche with a gentle, calming light that’s ideal for a spa-like bathroom experience. 

Plumber Ricky and IT worker Haydn faced the biggest challenge this week when Haydn had to leave the show to be with his partner, who went into premature labour! Despite this, Ricky soldiered on alone and delivered a bathroom that wowed the judges. 

Their vibrant, eclectic bathroom was full of beachy colors and textures, though the bold palette wasn’t to everyone’s taste. Shaynna felt it was “a little bit childish,” but overall, the judges were impressed with the effort, given the circumstances. 

Ricky and Haydn’s bathroom was brought to life with custom MFL strip lighting that cast a soft, ambient glow throughout the space. This lighting choice not only added to the room’s aesthetic but also provided a calming atmosphere that’s perfect for creating a relaxing retreat at home.

Kylie and Brad embraced dark, bold features with their striking bathroom design. Hairdresser Kylie and electrician/plumber Brad went all out with a luxurious all-black theme, accentuated with neon accents, herringbone patterns, and a skylight that filled the room with natural light. 

The judges were split on the result - Shaynna loved the drama, while Darren felt the combination of elements gave off “a mid-2010s nightclub vibe.” Marty was less impressed, warning that if they continued with this theme, it could be “the biggest disaster we’ve seen in 20 seasons.” 

The Reflextion mirror was a key feature in Kylie and Brad’s bathroom, complementing the vibrant style with its sleek design and subtle lighting. The Monterey wall bracket was a standout in Kristian and Mimi’s bathroom, adding a touch of elegance with its opal glass shade and sleek design. This light is perfect for adding a sophisticated touch to any room, even clustered on a wall for a unique, art-like effect.
