My Reno Rules

We’re proud to supply the lighting for My Reno Rules

A new renovation series hosted by Dr Chris Brown. Set in the Melbourne suburb of Bulleen, four teams take on two tired 1970s homes, transforming them room by room into fresh, modern spaces, with plenty of pressure from judges Neale Whitaker, Simon Cohen and Julia Green.  You’ll spot everything from statement pendants to clever downlight setups throughout the series, helping each space land the way it should. And with a $100,000 prize on the line and Adrian Portelli set to give the homes away, it’s renovation TV with a few unexpected twists.

REVEAL  1

House 1

A Emma and Michelle nailed the brief in House 1’s guest bedroom, keeping things calm with a soft neutral palette and layering in the Traviato pendants in travertine with bronze detailing as bedside lighting.

House 2

Over in House 2, Mitch and Shaz went straight for that wow factor in the guest bedroom with the Soleado pendant to create a standout moment above the mirror.

In the second guest bedroom, Franky and Issac used Amore small pendants in brass and pleated linen shades as bedside lighting, paired with MFL Forge Modern switches in brass.

Then into the living room, Mitch and Shaz layered it beautifully, bringing in the Astrid scalloped floor lamp in natural linen, while Tamarind pendants float above for added depth. Finished with the Sahara table lamp, it’s a great example of using lighting to build that modern organic, mid-century warmth throughout.

REVEAL  2

House 1

Nathan & Julia kept their downlights considered, using Flare gimbals to highlight artwork without overfilling the ceiling.

In their bedroom, soft pinks and rich browns set the tone, with the Paros lamp adding that deep bronze moment, while the Kyber fan with walnut blades brings in something more sculptural.

Emma and Michelle created a cosy bedroom corner with the Monaco floor lamp, its three-light design and bronze stem giving the space a bit of presence.

House 2

Warm and tonal was the vibe on for this week’s reveals, with stunning results! We love that the Forge switch range shows up across these homes, carrying through in finishes that tie in with the rest of the space.

REVEAL  3

House 1

The teams absolutely nailed the lighting in this reveal. Every space feels warm, layered and so easy to imagine living in, with pendants, sconces and softer ambient lighting all working together beautifully. Nathan and Julia’s Hartley pendant is a real hero piece in the kitchen, bringing that sculptural look without taking over the room.

We also love seeing Skywire used in a way that really shows off its flexibility in more architectural spaces, while the hand-made pieces bring so much personality and warmth through their glossy ceramic finishes and Mediterranean influence. Such a strong reveal all round.
