Our design consultation fees vary depending on the service you choose.
In-store consultations are completely free.
In-home visits are $100, with the full amount redeemable on purchase after your consult*. In-home services are available within one hour travel of the closest store.
In-studio consultations are $250, and you can put that cost toward your lighting selections when you spend $1,000 or more on any products.
If your electrician/builder/architect is a Beacon Trade member, they can provide you with a referral code that allows you to access this service for free. Check the online booking form to find a list of Beacon Lighting stores where this service is available.
An in-home consultation brings an accredited lighting consultant to you, assessing your space and suggesting fittings on-site. An in-studio consultation allows you to collaborate with a designer in our showroom, exploring lighting trends, styles, and technology while developing a tailored plan that you can give to your interior designer, architect, builder, or electrician.
If you want expert guidance in your own space, an in-home consultation is best. This is a great service for existing homes that need a lighting refresh. If you need a complete, comprehensive lighting plan, such as for a new construction or renovation, an in-studio consultation is ideal.

Consultations typically run between 60–90 minutes, depending on the complexity of your project.
For an in-studio consultation, your consultant will develop a comprehensive lighting and electrical plan, giving you a detailed quote and a plan that can be shared with your architect, builder, or electrician.For in-store and in-home consultations, your lighting consultant will create a tailored lighting recommendation for your space and provide a detailed quote.

Yes! Our online consultations offer the same expert advice from the comfort of your home. You’ll receive personalised guidance on lighting plans, styles, and selections via video call.
Yes, the fee for in-home and in-studio consultations is redeemable on purchases at Beacon Lighting. The fee for in-home services is redeemable after the consult, and in-studio fees when you spend $1,000 or more on any products.
Absolutely. Our lighting plans and quotes are designed to be easily shared with your project team, ensuring seamless integration into your build or renovation. Your team is welcome to come to any or all of your consultations.

Each of our stores has a Preferred Electrician they can recommend, or you can use our Electrician Finder to connect with a trusted professional in your area.
Yes. As part of an in-studio consultation, our lighting designers can create both lighting plans and electrical plans to support your build or renovation. This includes switch locations, power points and lighting layouts, giving you a clear plan to take to your electrician with confidence.
Quotes are valid for 30 days. If your project is further down the track, we can still provide a quote, but pricing may need to be reviewed based on promotions at the time.
