Talk about making an impact! This week’s guest bedroom reveals brought some stunning lighting choices, and the competition is heating up. Here’s how each team lit up their rooms and wowed the judges.

House 1: Jesse and Paige

Hoping for their first win, Jesse and Paige turned their guest bedroom into a dreamy girls' retreat. Featuring twin beds, sleek wall panelling, gingham wallpaper, and the only walk-in wardrobe in any of the rooms this week, they delivered a design with lots of character.

The judges were impressed by the playful touches, with Shaynna even admitting she didn’t know where to look – there was so much going on in the best way possible!

Marty was equally enthusiastic, commenting, "How cute is this!"

Jesse and Paige's kids' room glows with a soft, playful colour palette. The Equinox wall sconce in brass lights up the desk area, adding a sleek, minimalist design that almost floats off the wall. It brings subtle magic to the room's calm vibe. Combined with the Custom downlights, this lighting approach allows for both versatility and aesthetic appeal.

Styling tip: Recreate this look in a home office or kids' bedroom by using the circular wall sconces to brighten up desks or reading nooks. Pair with downlights for a polished finish.

House 2: Courtney and Grant

House 2 embraced their “Moditerranean” aesthetic again this week with curved features, organic materials, and warm tones. With help from House 1’s builder, they pulled off a stunning curved wall and skirting board that left the judges impressed.

Shaynna loved the earthy, tactile feel of the room, while Marty praised the high-end finishes and mood lighting that made the space feel cohesive and luxurious.

Courtney and Grant’s guest bedroom is warm and inviting, with lighting that enhances the room’s soft atmosphere. The Amore pleated wall lights in bronze and natural linen add texture and timeless charm. These were paired with Equinox travertine wall sconces, which added a subtle glow to the space, tying in beautifully with the natural tones of the room.

Styling tip: These lighting elements work beautifully in any room where you want to create warmth. Try pleated light fittings in living spaces or bedrooms for an elegant, timeless look, and add marble or stone lights to bring a natural touch.

House 3: Ricky and Haydn

"Well done, boys!" Marty’s beaming reaction summed up the judges’ thoughts on House 3’s coastal guest bedroom. With a peachy neutral colour scheme and breezy atmosphere, the room exuded sophistication. Though judges had concerns over the bedside lighting, the use of LED strip lighting won them over.

Ricky and Haydn opted for a minimalist approach with maximum impact. Their custom MFL strip lighting enhances the room’s light, airy feel, while the Londo fan in white provides both style and function, keeping the space cool and comfortable without compromising the clean look.

Styling tip: For a subtle, continuous glow in any room, consider strip lighting along skirting boards or ceilings.

House 4: Kylie and Brad

Kylie and Brad’s neutral-coloured kids' room surprised the judges this week. Shaynna loved how the room felt like a perfect balance between coastal and industrial elements, especially with the black accents that tied everything together. She also admired how the lighting worked with the bold, dark feature wall to bring out the room’s details.

Kylie and Brad’s guest bedroom is the epitome of coastal cool, with a modern edge. The sleek, black Radar fan pairs perfectly with the room’s polished yet relaxed vibe, while the Panton alabaster table lamp adds soft, warm lighting that balances out the darker tones. The Ison surface downlights round off the look, highlighting key areas of the space.

Styling tip: For rooms with bold feature walls or dark tones, consider a ceiling fan in a contrasting colourway to your ceiling.

House 5: Kristian and Mimi

Kristian and Mimi were excited to create a fun and playful kids' room for the second guest bedroom reveal. With a whimsical cloud bedhead and rainbow decal, the room was a hit with the judges, with Darren predicting that the cloud bedhead would be a bestseller. The LED lighting behind the bed was another highlight, adding a magical, dreamy touch.
