House 12 is done and (fairy) dusted! Bonnie, Lana and Erin have worked their magic once again to transform a dated home in Windsor into a stunning, contemporary cottage. We’re proud to have been a part of their extraordinary journey and absolutely thrilled to see our products lighting up this beautiful family home. Join us as we travel back to each room reveal and inspire you with tips to transform your own home with lighting.

Façade

The team made an impression right at the entrance with our Pebble wall brackets. The rounded, organic shape and the warm antique brass finish created the perfect welcoming look.

How to get the look:

Depending on the size of your front façade, use one or more wall brackets outside your front door and windows. Try to match these with the style of your home. For instance, if you’re aiming for the Hamptons look, consider fittings like our Southampton or Portsea wall brackets. Besides good looks, façade lighting will also help add a sense of security around your home.

Backyard

The backyard was transformed into an entertainers' outdoor space with different zones: dining, BBQ, bar and lounging. The team used our Pebble wall lights once again to add touches of charm throughout this space and seamlessly connect the backyard to the front façade.

How to get the look:

It’s important to give your home a cohesive look and that means making sure your style flows effortlessly from one space to the next. Consider using the same style and finish of lighting throughout the exteriors of your home to make all the spaces seem connected. It can still have slight variations in design, for instance, our Norwest wall bracket in brass and Norwest wall sconce in brass have the same look with a small tweak.

Dining room

A modern family's dining space needs a modern statement pendant! Our Aiden pendant features a simple conical shade with beautiful wood grain detail and fits right in with the natural timber and texture vibe of this contemporary cottage.

How to get the look:

Your dining table is the perfect place to make a statement. Depending on the size of your table, you can install a single pendant, a row of two or three pendants or even create a cluster for more impact. Just ensure that the pendant is placed at a height that provides the required illumination without obstructing anyone’s view. In terms of design, select a pendant that speaks to the style of your home. So, if you have a minimalist theme consider a linear, minimalist pendant like our MFL By Masson Fleming.

Bathrooms

Our Gypsum wall light feels right at home in both these luxurious, curvy bathrooms. It’s fashioned out of naturally occurring gypsum which perfectly complements the organic, neutral vibe running through this contemporary cottage. Its two-sided illumination highlights the gorgeous sage green and bone coloured tiles as well as their respective grout details.

How to get the look:

If you have interesting features to show off like period tiles, unique grout or a pretty vanity mirror, choose understated wall lights that don’t compete with a person’s attention but still perform their job of highlighting the details.

Mustard bedroom

This bedroom will make you want to be a kid again! The team combined mustard, brass, timber and rattan to create a bold and practical boys' bedroom which we absolutely love. They made a brilliant choice with our Smith lamp which provides task lighting for all those long study sessions and perfectly paired the unique wallpapered ceiling with our Georgia flush mount.

How to get the look:

If you don’t have high ceilings choose a light that hugs the ceiling to make your room look more spacious. In addition, a close-to-ceiling fitting will also throw more light on interesting ceiling features. As for desk lamps, choose a multi-tasking option that offers USB/wireless charging for your smart devices and dimming functionality in addition to task lighting.

White bedroom

We’re impressed with the fun and quirky artwork the team created in this kid’s bedroom with three of our Disk walls lights. We also love their choice of our Lowe lamp in white and marble which blends in perfectly with the white colour palette. Its shade can be tilted up and down to direct light where you need it. Perfect for bedtime reading!

How to get the look:

Add a bit of fun to your kid’s bedroom with adorable lighting. Choose from neon lights like our Flamingo and Popsicle, night lights like our T-Rex and Whale or string lights like our Pom Pom. Being battery-operated, these lights also minimise risk and are safe to use in a kid’s room.
