How to style a room with pendant lights
If you’re looking for ambient or task lighting options, pendants should be on top of your list - they’re perfect for every room and space.
In the dining room, a single pendant, a cluster of pendants or even a beaded chandelier like our Koralky works beautifully as a statement piece over a dining table. When selecting a pendant, view it from below to make sure it’s still as enticing as when viewed from the front or the side.
Odd numbers work best when lighting in clusters and over island benches. For instance, when spacing pendants over a large kitchen island, consider hanging three pendants in a row for optimum visual balance as well as for even distribution of light over the work surface. Four pendants would look too cluttered.
For a cleaner look, a simple linear pendant does the trick. Alternatively, a cluster of pendants or a single statement piece positioned off centre to the island can be a striking feature. Just be sure to compensate for the unbalanced light with some downlights or extra ambient lighting.
In the bedroom, place pendants on either side of the bed as a great alternative to traditional lamps to keep your bedside tables clutter free.
In the living room, make a bold statement with a black pendant, bring an earthy feel with a timber/naturals pendant or add some drama by grouping pendants at varying heights in the corner in place of a floor lamp.
