From prison bars to open plan freedom

The final – and largest – home renovation saw a cold war form in the Queensland heat as contestants fought for square footage.

Lounge Room
Our Elk Floor Lamp in brass brought the bling to the lounge room, and helped create a cosy nook in the open plan space.

Dining Room
Our Grove Bamboo Pendant added structural interest to the dining room, and perfectly zoned the open plan space.

Hallway/Master Bedroom/Boy’s Bedroom
Wendy loved the beautiful shadows cast by our Florida Wicker Pendant, which gave the home its grand entrance. Our Pirouette 18 light pendant and Charlize Pendant in Chrome certainly met the Gold Coast bling house rule, while our Paint Spot Lamp in Blue was a fun addition to the boy’s bedroom.

Kitchen
The judges were critical of the sheer size of the kitchen, but choosing oversized statement pieces such as our new Buxton Pendants by Dean Toepfer could have brought warmth and dimension to this space.

Ensuite
While the walled ensuite was at the centre of controversy, the judges loved the modern bling our Zenon light and Armento Spotlights brought to the space.
