The hamptons comes to Canberra
17 May 2019
In this week’s episode of Selling Houses Australia, the team was tasked with transforming a dated, purple nightmare into a house a cut above the display home competition.
Frances made a rushed purchase and realised her too large, too quirky, too expensive home in NSW’s Queanbeyan was a high maintenance mistake. Priced nearly 50% over the suburb median and with more quirks than quality, there’s not a buyer in sight! Time for Shaynna and Charlie to perform another not-so-minor miracle.
Facade Before & After
Why the Hamptons look never goes out of style
Hamptons is the trend that keeps on giving, and it certainly inspired this amazing makeover. Bound by a tight budget, Shaynna’s main focus was the 30-year-old kitchen. Andrew adored our Orion pendant over the new stone island bench which complemented our Aksel floor lamp and Breton table lamp in the adjoining living space.
Living Room Before & AfterShaynna pulled a surprising styling trick in the dark lounge room. Painting the walls even darker and adding light coloured furniture and contemporary lights such as our Aksel floor lamp gave the room contrast and personality.
Just a few styling updates transformed the old-fashioned master suite into a Hamptons style retreat. The blue and white geometric base on our Batik table lamps referenced the freshly painted light blue walls.
